Ah…….. that feeling of finding your perfect partner.
You see them and suddenly you drift off into a different reality.
If you spend most of your time on the interweb you may even get romantically involved with someone’s avatar before you actually get to see each other for real….
….or perhaps you fall in love with a virtual girlfriend.
I mean – *really* in love to the point of marriage!
Konami’s Love Plus has apparently made a Japanese man, SAL900 (not his real name by-the-way), fall so deeply in love with his virtual girlfriend that he is planning to legally marry her.
The man flew to Guam to marry the girlfriend, Nene Anegasaki.
I wonder if a virtual wife is still entitled to half the house, car, and music collection?
If you’re not familiar with this cult comic (Subset’s singer, Rom, is a huge fan!) here’s a quick outline:
The graphic novel features Scott as a twenty-something unemployed slacker who falls for “perfect” Amazon delivery girl – Ramona Flowers. However, in order to date her, he has to defeat her seven evil ex-boyfriends (one of which is actually a girl!).
What begins as your typical emo indie book quickly becomes an over-the-top manga-like epic full of colorful battles and ridiculous silliness.
The game is still early in development by Ubisoft Montreal, so few details are available. What is known is that the game follows the plot of the movie (which in turn follows the plot of the book). O’Malley expects it to be a side-scrollingbeat-em-up.
The downside is that we all have to wait until 2010, when the film is due, to find out more.
LongBox is hoping to bring the kind of digital distribution common with music and video to the comic world!
The software has been in production for over three years by QuickSilver Software and it will be a free, cross-platform iTunes-style jukebox for comic books – it even appears to feature the similar menu to Cover Flow.

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has been asking PSP users what they reckon about having a comic book store.
The store would be accessible from the PSP and be able to be downloaded to the Playstation Portable.
Sony seems most concerned with how it’d price the comics—a la carte, or subscription-based?
What would you go for?
Personally I’d prefer to [...]
Apple blogs are lighting up the interweb with word that Apple is due to hold a special launch event on Tuesday 24 March.
There’s been no confirmation of this but there’s plenty excitable rumour-mongering going about.
The news/rumours are said to come from several different sources.
The grape-vine is whispering that the event is to be about the hardware with Mac launches [...]

Yup – me reviewing a book!

But once I got it in my hands all became clear.
Cool Stuff Exploded sounds a tad dangerous and pretty much bad news for the [...]
Pipping the Kindle v2 to launch here is Sony’s reader!
The second-gen book replacer from Sony, the PRS-505 Reader is smaller than a hardback, has memory to store up to 160 e-books, which is expandable via an optional Memory Stick or SD Memory card, and it can also be used as a mass storage device for file transfers.
Weighing [...]
Everytime I see news about the Kindle I can’t help but think of the “Indling Song” by Lister in Red Dwarf.
I digress.
CrunchGear is saying that two new Kindle models are destined to go on sale within the next 6 to 12 months.
The story goes that the first model is simply a revamped version of the existing [...]
Dell are looking to unleash their “Dell E.”
This is not a purveyor of fine spicy sausages but an Eee taunting notebook that will also pull the pig-tails of the MacBook Air.
Dell’s saying that the Dell E will appear in two device types; an 8.9-inch model clearly meant to take on the Eee 900, and the 12.1-inch “E Slim” which [...]
