Tracks by Aiaiai – 80’s Headphones for 2010

by Jay Garrett on January 18, 2010

Righty – you love the retro vibe, perhaps wearing some cool Space Invader tights, but you’re rocking some modern headphones – you’ve ruined the look!

You could get yourself some mighty fine Koss Porta Pros, which I’ve owned and loved but they might be a little ‘off-the-shelf’ for someone as cool as you.

May I present the ‘Tracks’ headphones from the fantastically named Danish company – Aiaiai!

These have a distinct whiff of the Walkman ‘phones and are admittedly styled on the personal audio classics which must’ve helped Sony beat Phillips in the compact cassette player wars back in the 80’s.

You get the comfy foam ear-pads that slide on brushed steel head braces.

Whilst their looks are stuck in my favourite style period the ‘Tracks’ are 21st Century with the latest in driver technology and you should be getting decent audio from the 40mm speakers.

These will also play nice with Blackberry’s and iPhones so there you go.

£44.50 will get you stepping out from the crowd!

Check the range out at Aiaiai.dk

INQ 3G ChatThe INQ Chat 3G handset, remember – the ‘BlackBerry for the Facebook generation’?

Well it’s now on sale for the stocking-filler price of £100.

The social butterfly’s blower looks like it shares parentage with some of RIM’s most loved offers up widgets for Twitter and Facebook right there on the homescreen.

There’s great news for those that get their grooves from iTunes as the Chat 3G is the first handset (that isn’t an Apple iPhone) that can actually play those AAC files downloaded from Apple’s music portal.

The DoubleTwist app was developed by 25-year-old Norwegian Jon Lech Johansen and if the INQ and Mr J get away with this without attracting unwanted attention from Apple then I reckon there may be a few other handsets offering similar apps.

The INQ Chat 3G can be grabbed for £100 on PAYG or from £15-a-month from 3 Mobile – with that you get the unlimited free Skype-to-Skype calls and MSN Messenger so that you keep all your buddies up-to-date with everything you’re doing.

So what the heck is this wristphone, phonewatch nonsense all about then?
Well – apparently this natty little thing is a BlackBerry companion watch – BerryBangle? StrapBerry?

Ok CrackBerry fans!
BGR has managed to grab some initial specs as well as product code names for some up-and-coming BlackBerry devices!
The BlackBerry products that are being tested and tweaked have the manly aftershave sounding names of Onyx, Driftwood and Magnum.
Grrrrrr!
BGR ‘acquired’ the name list that is in all probability a list of three different code names for one product [...]

We’ve all had someone at some time looking over our shoulder watching what we text or checking out the latest installment of GadgetyNews.
Apart from it being annoying it doesn’t really bother me – I wouldn’t choose to do something ‘private’ on my phone whilst on public transport.
But, if you want to keep whatever you’re watching [...]

OLED BlackBerry – A Touch Art Lebedev

February 6, 2009 Click to read more →

We all like OLEDs yeah?
We all love Art Lebedev’s keyboard designs for the the Optimus Pultius and Maximus don’t we?
Whilst we’re trying to decide whether clickable or non-clickable touchscreens are best here’s a BlackBerry concept that I think rocks - totally!
The concept from the MozPhone project is kind of a Art Lebedev and BlackBerry 7130 mash-up and I believe [...]

Great news for those awaiting the new touch-screen crackberry – bad news for those that are saying the Blackberry Storm isn’t coming to the UK!

E66 and E71 – Nokia’s New Business Phones In The Flesh

I found myself 29 floors up in the Millbank Tower today thanks to Nokia and WOM World.
They had gathered us all here to talk about the two new phones in their E series.

British Telecom are apparently looking to dip their toes back into the mobile handset market with a “BlackBerry-styled” device that does everything your typical smartphone can……..and more!
According to Times Online, the device will automatically ”switch from BT’s wireless Home Hub indoors to Vodafone’s network on the move” and it will probably be sold with a broadband package.
Do we [...]

On my routine trawl through the interweb I found this.
Hold on to your undergarments as what you’re staring at is the previously unseen BlackBerry clamshell – named the Kickstart.
The Boy Genius is unashamedly flaunting a number of photos of this latest crackberry - to rub salt in our wounds he has apparently known about it for “a while”!
The phone is equipped with what [...]
