The Samsung SCH-W880 Phone Camera – The 12mp Compact Camera Takes HD Vids and Calls Home

It appears that it wants to pitch its upcoming SCH-W880 as a replacement for your digital camera.

On first looking at the pics it looks just like any other compact snapper

Until you find out that it’s actually supposed to be a mobile phone!

The W880 has more selling points than its high-res camera sensor and optical zoom you know!.

Although; the phone’s camera features do include a camera mode dial and dedicated shutter button, 12 megapixel sensor with HD video recording, and that 3x optical zoom.

But – Apart from its clearly camera-focused (arf!) design, the Samsung SCH-W880 also features:

• 3.3 inch AMOLED WGA screen.
• UMTS/HSDPA connectivity.
• Wi-Fi
• GPS
• Bluetooth
• Slot for microSD cards.
• HD video at 30fps
• Macro mode.
• Xenon flash.

So – is it a camera first and phone second or vice versa?

LG Confirm 12 Megapixel Camera Phone for 2009

lg-logo-150x150LG has officially confirmed that it will be dropping a 12 megapixel camera phone before the end of MMIX.

Deatils are still scant but at least it’s now been confirmed for release this side of Christmas.

That’s about has much date details I have at the mo but with the Sony Ericsson Idou already having been premiered at MWC this year and set for arrival in October – sooner would be better than later for LG.

When I get more so shall you my Gadgety faithful :)
