Quake Live – Free In-Browser Killing!

by Jay Garrett on January 14, 2009

quakeliveWanna play Quake for free anywhere as long as the puter has a browser?

Well, Quake Live just happens to be a free in-browser version of Quake!

Invitations to the service, previously named Quake Zero, are being sent out as I type and users are directed to beta.quakelive.com

This is a whole new deal in gaming!

Instead of charging gamers a monthly access fee - id Software have got together with IGA Worldwide to add ads and sponsorships to the game to make the money.

So far the early reviews of the game are positive and it also looks like a fast-track to lunch-time shooty-shooty-kill-kill!

The trailer for Quake Live is here and the official Press Release is here :)
