TP-Vision, brand licensee for the design, manufacturing and marketing of Philips TVs has been in touch to tell us about their new tellies for 2017.
The announcement regarding the company’s new 6162 and 6262 2017 range of smart TVs is that they will be the first Philips sets to feature the Freeview Play service in the UK.
Freeview Play combines catch-up, on-demand services and live television together in one place.
The 6162 (above) is available in 43-, 50-, 55- and 65-inch models.
This 4K Ultra HD TV gets an open stand design in the 65-inch model.
The 6262 is available in 43-, 50-, 55- and 65-inch flavours.
You get 4K Ultra HD with Ambilight on two sides. However, get the 65-incher and you get Ambilight on three sides.
The subscription-free TV service offers viewers 70 digital TV channels plus 15 in HD. It also has an enhanced EPG allowing viewers to access catch-up programming from BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4, Demand 5 and UKTV Play by scrolling back through the TV guide.
Additional on-demand content is also available from the Freeview Play apps page.
The addition of this service will allow TP Vision to offer the full range of catch-up services on these new ranges of Philips Smart TVs in the UK.
