First unveiled in the summer of 2016, the MP100 phono preamplifier has arrived in the UK. Just in time for the holiday season.
The aim of this latest addition is to get the best from vinyl collections new and old.
This phono stage promises to bring the classic McIntosh design and quality with added high-res 24-bit USB recording.
McIntosh MP100 features
The MP100 is packed with features specifically designed for the vinyl lover. It features both moving coil and moving magnet inputs, each with adjustable loading (six settings each) to optimise performance.
It may be compact but the McIntosh phono preamp features both balanced and unbalanced analogue outputs, plus a ‘mono mode’ switch. The latter is there to decrease noise and correctly process the signal when playing mono recordings. This is definitely aimed at the vinyl collector.
This phono preamp promises to be an excellent way to help introduce turntables into modern audio systems and for existing home theatre systems.
