HTC Magic Get’s UK Release Date – G2 Google Phone

by Jay G on April 20, 2009

htc_magicOK UK Googlephone fans!

The moment that you’ve all been waiting for has arrived!

After a few delays it looks like HTC’s second Android handset has an official listing for a May 5th release – that’s according to Vodaphone’s website anyhooo.

The pricing is as follows:

  • Free on select (£35 and £30, depending on contract length) plans
  • £195 on an 18-month, £30 tariff
  • £293 for £15, £20 and £25 per month tariffs

Spec-wise the Magic is decked out with a 3.2-inch QVGA touchscreen and has lost that slide-out QWERTY keyboard that featured on the G1 – that’s replaced by an onscreen board but allows the Magic to be slimmer than the previous model.

The Magic also packs a 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus, HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity as well as GPS.

Will you be going for this one?

I always thought that until I bought an iPhone – once you get used to virtual boards it’s not so bad :)
