Google Android Market gets Windows Phone 7 Facelift and Movie Rentals

If your handset is running Google Android 2.2+ you will notice that good things have happened with the Android Market.

The Android Market now includes book and movie downloads but the most noticeable change is that the Market looks a lot better, a lot clearer and a lot… well, more Windows Phone 7 if you ask me.

The user experience also appears to be much faster and easier. Navigating through it you will notice some new categories such as staff picks and Editors’ Choice apps so you can check out the recommendations instead of trawling through app after app.

Both books and movie purchases will instantly appear on your handset once you’ve bought them from the Market.

Movie rentals start at $2 and there’s the clue that we in the UK were inevitably going to face – that service is not yet available over here.

The new Android Market will automatically rollout in the coming weeks to all Android 2.2+ users though.

Here’s a video for us to enjoy until it makes it over…
