Acer has launched two new Predator Triton gaming laptops at CES 2019 in Las Vegas.
The Acer Predator Triton 900 and Acer Predator Triton 500 were unleashed at CES 2019. Acer claims that both laptops come with new and powerful internals that rival gaming desktops.
The latest power-houses from Acer naturally have impressive spec lists. However, they can be controlled just by a smartphone. Thanks to the company’s PredatorSense mobile app you can use your phone to manage fan speed, lighting, audio modes and processor clock speeds. That said, this feature will not be available out of the box but it should land by the end of the year.
The Acer Predator Triton 900
The Acer Predator Triton 900 boasts a 17-inch 4K display with a CNC-machined Ezel Aero Hinge that enables you to flip, extend or recline the screen according to how you want it.
Powered by up to Intel’s 8th generation Core i7 processor paired with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 GPU, the Triton 900 comes with up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM along with an SSD.
Furthermore, the Triton 900 comes with an Xbox wireless receiver that lets
you play PC games on Windows 10 with an Xbox controller. To round out the package, it features audio by Waves. We are told that Waves Maxx delivers superior sound quality made immersive with Waves NxTM head tracking for a hyper-realistic 3D audio experience.
The Acer Predator Triton 500
The Acer Predator Triton 500 sports a 15.6-inch full HD display and can also be powered by Intel’s 8th generation Core i7 processor paired with the GeForce RTX 2080 GPU. Additionally, the 500 has the option of up to 32GB of RAM along with an SSD.
At just 17.9 mm (0.70 inches) thin and weighing 2.1 kg (4.6 lbs.), it has a durable, all-metal chassis and narrow bezels for an impressive 81% body-to-screen ratio.
The 15.6-inch 300 nits IPS display brings games to life with 144Hz refresh rates in overdrive at 3ms.
Finally, both of the laptops come with the company’s own advanced cooling system that increases airflow by 45%.
Price and availability
The Predator Triton 900 will be available in North America in March with prices starting at US$3,999; in EMEA in March, with prices starting at €4,199.
The Predator Triton 500 will be available in North America in February with prices starting at US$1,799; in EMEA in February, with prices starting at €1,999.
